A CONTINUING COMMITMENT TO EDUCATION: PROVINCIAL DIRECTORATE OF NATIONAL EDUCATION VISITS MED MARINE HOLDING
Med Marine Holding had the pleasure of welcoming a delegation led by Mr. Emrullah Aydın, Provincial Director of National Education, at its headquarters. The visit focused on Med Marine Holding’s ongoing engagement in education, particularly through the Med Marine Tuncer Şen Science High School, and included a straightforward exchange of views on the role such initiatives play in supporting students and strengthening the local education environment.
As part of the Ministry of National Education’s “100% Support for Education Campaign,” Med Marine Holding established the Med Marine Tuncer Şen Science High School in Körfez, Kocaeli in 2019, which was subsequently transferred to the Ministry. Today, the school continues to contribute to regional education with its modern infrastructure and well-equipped learning environment.
The delegation included Mr. Emrullah Aydın, Provincial Director of National Education, Mr. Sadık Akar, Deputy Provincial Director, Mr. Sergülen Kurt, District Director of National Education, Mr. Ahmet Ertem, Principal of Med Marine Tuncer Şen Science High School, Ms. Serap Kocazeybek, Vice Principal, Ms. Hatice Özdin, Guidance Counselor, and Mr. Gökhan Gümüşsoy, Mathematics Teacher.
Mr. Recai Hakan Şen, Chairman of Med Marine Holding, reflected on the role of education, stating:
“Education holds a very special place for us. Seeing a school continue its journey, filled with students who are learning, growing, and finding their own direction, is deeply meaningful. Being part of that journey, even in a small way, is something we truly value.”
During the visit, discussions focused on strengthening collaboration in education, supporting students’ academic development, and ensuring the sustainability of high-quality learning environments.
Alongside Med Marine Tuncer Şen Science High School, Med Marine Holding’s relationship with education also extends into the earliest stages of learning. The Öget Şen Kızılay Kindergarten in Ereğli, opened in 2025, and the Pakize Şirin Şen Kızılay Kindergarten, established in 2021 under the “81 Provinces 81 Kindergartens” initiative, sit quietly within this wider journey. Carrying names that gently echo a family story, these schools reflect a simple, enduring intention: to meet children at the very beginning of their path, in spaces shaped by care, curiosity, and a quiet sense of belonging.
Med Marine Holding continues to approach its contributions to education as a long-term responsibility, valuing initiatives that foster meaningful engagement between public institutions and the private sector. This visit stands as a reflection of a shared vision for advancing education and supporting future generations.
The visit carried a quiet reminder of what education represents beyond classrooms and buildings. Schools like Med Marine Tuncer Şen Science High School become places where time, effort, and curiosity come together—where students slowly shape their own paths, step by step. In that sense, the impact of such environments reaches far beyond the present, extending into the future in ways that unfold over time.
