MED MARINE HANDS OVER OUDHNA, THE THIRD TUG IN OMMP’S SIX-VESSEL RAmparts 2800 SERIES
Strengthening the growing collaboration between Türkiye and Tunisia, MED MARINE has successfully delivered OUDHNA, the third of six RAmparts 2800 series ASD tugboats ordered by Tunisia’s Office de la Marine Marchande et des Ports (OMMP). The vessel was handed over in late November at MED MARINE’s EREGLI SHIPYARD, marking another confident step forward in OMMP’s ongoing fleet renewal program initiated under the November 2023 contract.
Named after one of Tunisia’s historically significant ancient settlements, OUDHNA reflects both resilience and refined engineering. Measuring 28 meters in length and designed by Robert Allan Ltd., the tug delivers 60 tonnes of bollard pull ahead and is built to Class FIFI-E standards, providing enhanced reliability, safety, and functionality for daily port operations.
This latest delivery follows BULLA REGIA and EL JEM, the first and second vessels of the series, further reinforcing the steady and disciplined progress of the project. Powered by twin medium-speed diesel engines and featuring an open aft deck engineered to carry two 10-foot containers, OUDHNA offers versatile capability across towing, mooring, escort, pushing, and firefighting operations.
The handover of OUDHNA once again highlights the trusted partnership between MED MARINE and OMMP—an alliance shaped by shared determination to advance port efficiency, modernize maritime operations, and build a dynamic future for Tunisia’s coastal infrastructure.
